What is a 4PL?
A 4PL is a logistics provider who typically doesn't own any assets, so rather than owning a warehouse or trucks themselves, they normally find other 3PL's or other businesses who can do the work on behalf of a client. Ordinarily, they get involved because they simplify the process for the client by connecting large companies, typically, with warehouses and transport solutions.

Track Expenses
CartonCloud works really well as a 4PL product because within our warehouse management system it can create different warehouses and you can define distinct access levels within each one. If you're a 4PL provider, you can configure say three separate warehouses and you can give different people in each of those warehouses access to use the system within their warehouses.
You can calculate both the invoice that you should send to your customer as a 4PL plus you can have it automatically calculate a bill for what you need to pay the warehouse or the transport provider for doing the work, saving you time and money.
Benefits of Using CartonCloud
We have some clients who are managing over 10 different warehouses and probably over 30 to 40 different carriers using their CartonCloud account. All of their invoicing and billing and everything else is all combined in one place. The customer can see all of their stock across the different warehouses in one location, and then all of those different warehouses and transport providers can actually use the software themselves as a warehousing system and as a transport management system.
