Revert Status

Being able to go backwards in a warehousing system is something that you normally can't do. It can cause real problems when you have things like a purchase order that was verified incorrectly or a sales order that was packed incorrectly and you need to go back and make changes.

Typically, within warehouse management systems, everything needs to be done on a forward looking basis, which means that to correct a purchase order or to make changes to a sales order, you actually have to follow a really convoluted process, which involves you having to go and add another order to then be able to create a modification on the outgoing.

Within CartonCloud, we realised that we're working with small businesses and they just don't have the time to deal with this sort of stuff. If they've made a mistake, they want it to be really easy to just go back and make a change and fix it up and tell the system exactly what they did.

So we've implemented a feature which allows you to revert statuses on both purchase orders and sales orders. After you've packed a sales order, you can go in there and you can actually say, "Now look, I actually didn't pack this," revert the status, make any changes, or delete the order if you need to, and all of the stock and everything else in the background is correctly updated, both forwards and backwards so that everything maintains a hundred percent accuracy, but it gives you the real simplicity and ease of use if you do make mistakes and need to make changes.
