What are Address Strings?
A common problem in transport and warehousing is that different clients specify the same address in different ways, or they provide you with addresses which are incorrect. As an example, you might have one customer who refers to a store as IGA Palm Beach, and another that refers to it as Palm Beach IGA. When you have these orders come in, it becomes really frustrating because you end up with lots of jobs going to the same store, but they all look like they're going to different places.

Efficient Address Management
So within CartonCloud, what we designed is a concept called "address strings", which allows you to link the text that somebody provides you with to the actual address. These records can be used by both the warehouse management system and our transport management system.
So in the previous example, the two different ways of providing IGA in Palm Beach could both be linked to a single Palm Beach IGA address record, and therefore every job which comes in will be shown as going to the same store.
