On-forwarder Deliveries

Keeping Tabs on Outsourced Work

What are On-forwarders?

Most transport companies use a lot of different on-forwarders in order to get deliveries done to regional areas or areas outside of where their own trucks go. Now this can become a real mess, because in a lot of cases the visibility and the traceability that you have over stock once it's handed onto an on-forwarder is really limited. So within CartonCloud's transport management system, we created an on-forwarder section where you can define all of your different on-forwarders.

Tracking Outsourced Work

When you allocate consignments to on-forwarders, you then have the ability to mark those consignments as being with the on-forwarder. As they then send you back the paperwork and the proof of delivery, all of that can be uploaded into the system and you can then match it off against the particular consignment that it relates to, so that you've got all of your PODs from your on-forwarders stored in the one system.
You can even go as far as automating the POD match by printing out a con note from CartonCloud that you give to the carrier to take with them, because that has a QR code on it which can be automatically read back in.

Benefits of Using CartonCloud

The visibility, functionality and traceability of on-forwarder stock is almost exactly the same as what you get with your own drivers, which makes it very easy to provide your customers with up-to-date information on whether or not a job within an on-forwarder has actually been delivered. And if so, you can provide them with a POD.
