Get ready for a major enhancement to your warehouse operations! In September, we'll be rolling out the brand-new CartonCloud Pack Screen to all our WMS customers.

This powerful new feature will be available in all WMS subscriptions.

What is the Pack Screen?

The Pack Screen is a dedicated, user-friendly interface designed to streamline your packing and fulfillment process from start to finish. It's built for speed and accuracy, helping your team pack orders more efficiently and with fewer errors.

With the new Pack Screen, you'll be able to:

  • Verify Items: Scan or manually confirm each item as it's packed into a carton or satchel.
  • Pack into Multiple Shippers: Easily record which items have been placed into which specific consignment item.
  • Carrier Booking and Label Printing: Through your existing integrations (Starshipit, Machship, Shipstation etc), trigger carrier booking and label printing. If the consignments are being delivered through your own fleet, you can also print CartonCloud Consignment Labels.
  • Coming Soon: Carrier Selection: We’re bringing a ton of carrier connectivity within CartonCloud. Soon, you’ll be able to click+connect to shipping platforms (Starshipit, Machship, ShipStation etc) and also connect CartonCloud directly to major carriers (Auspost, USPS, FedEx, NZ Post etc). Available rates will then appear on the Pack Screen and you’ll be able to choose the carrier and print labels. Carrier connections will be able to be configured at both the customer and organisation level, and consignment rating will support a new cost+ rating system.

This feature is designed to significantly boost your team's productivity, improve order accuracy, and provide greater flexibility for your packing workflows, especially for high-volume e-commerce fulfillment.

New “Picked” Status for Sale Orders

To support the distinct “Pick” and “Pack” processes, we’re introducing a new “Picked” status into Sale Orders, renaming “Packing in Progress” to “Picking in Progress” and also renaming “Packer Assigned” to “Picker Assigned”.

When generating Warehouse Fulfilments (Consignments) from Sale Orders, they will transit between the following statuses:
“Awaiting Pick and Pack” → “Picking in Progress” → “Picked” → “Packed” → “Dispatched”.

Bonus: Warehouse Fulfillments Now Included

To power the new Pack Screen, we are also adding Warehouse Fulfillments (a new type of Consignment) to your WMS subscription for free. This gives you the ability to create and manage shipments for third-party carriers directly within CartonCloud, further simplifying your dispatch process.

What do you need to do?

Nothing! The Pack Screen and Warehouse Fulfillments will be automatically enabled on your account in early September. We'll send another email closer to the release day to let you know exactly when this will be made available. If you have existing carrier integrations directly from Sale Orders, we’ll be in touch to assist with adjusting these so they are connected to our new Warehouse Fulfilment Consignments.

We are committed to helping you optimise your logistics operations and are incredibly excited to deliver this new functionality to you

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to reach out to our support team.

Frequently asked questions

I only have the WMS and currently pay for the “Pack Screen” add-on. Will I continue to pay for this?

No, as the new Pack Screen & Warehouse Fulfilment functionality is now being provided to all WMS customers as a standard feature, you’ll no longer be charged for this add-on once the new  Pack Screen is enabled.

What is the difference between a Warehouse Fulfilment and a regular Consignment?

A Warehouse Fulfilment is a new type of Consignment specifically designed to be used with Sale Orders for the purpose of shipping with third-party carriers. Warehouse Fulfilments cannot be allocated to drivers or delivered using the mobile app, and do not support the full suite of Consignment Rating capabilities.

Will I have to pay for all these Warehouse Fulfilment Consignments?

No, Warehouse Fulfilments will not count toward your usage (Consignments or Warehouse Orders), they are included for free.

I have both the TMS and WMS, and I want all Sale Orders to continue to create regular consignments because I deliver them myself. How can I achieve this?

For customers using both the TMS and WMS, this will be the default behaviour (unchanged from how things currently work). If you would like to use Warehouse Fulfilments for some of your Sale Orders, please contact us so we can configure this.

What determines whether a Sale Order will create a regular Consignment vs a Warehouse Fulfilment?

The carrier. Every consignment is associated to a Carrier, and we (CartonCloud staff) can configure each carrier to either use regular consignments, or the new Warehouse Fulfilments. For example, if you send items with Auspost, Auspost would be set up as a new carrier and configured to create Warehouse Fulfilments. This way, anything shipped with Auspost will be treated as a Warehouse Fulfilment rather than a regular consignment.

Will Warehouse Fulfilments appear on Consignment Reports and other places throughout CartonCloud?

Initially yes, and we’ll be gathering feedback from our customers to determine exactly how and where Warehouse Fulfilments should display throughout CartonCloud.

I only have the TMS, can I create Warehouse Fulfilments?

No, Warehouse Fulfilments are only generated from Sale Orders, you can not create standalone Warehouse Fulfilments.

Can a Sale Order create more than one Warehouse Fulfilment?

Yes. A Sale Order may be split into multiple Warehouse Fulfilments if there are multiple tracking numbers. For example, if you are shipping using pre-purchased satchels such as Auspost Express satchels, each satchel has its own tracking number. If the Sale Order is packed into more than one satchel, then each satchel will become its own Warehouse Fulfilment. Conversely, if sending with services such as Auspost eParcel, multiple boxes can still be tracked under a single tracking number, so this would create a single Warehouse Fulfilment that contains multiple items.

I ship a lot of things through Auspost, and I use a shipping platform such as StarShipit, ShipStation (or similar) to manage this. Can these now be shipped directly from CartonCloud?

Yes. At present, our integrations team needs to configure the integration for you, but we are working to make this available via click+connect. If you would like to use our existing Auspost connection please contact us. Please note that we don’t yet have an interface on the Pack Screen to display the various shipping options and prices, (this is also coming soon), so if you need to perform manual selection you’ll need to continue to use Starshipit, Shipstation or similar.

Do Warehouse Fulfilments impact the number of included API Calls?

No. The number of included API calls is based on the number of Consignments and Warehouse Orders (Sale Orders + Purchase Orders) within your plan. As Warehouse Fulfilments are not counted toward usage for either of these, they do not have any impact on the number of included API calls.
