What is Group Charging?

It's common in transport that multiple deliveries going to the same store are combined together and charged as one. You might have a customer who has provided you with two different invoices, but both of those are being delivered to the same supermarket. Additionally, the way that you've configured or the way that you've negotiated your rates is such that you'll only charge them for the group itself. When selecting a transport management system you must be sure that it's capable of not just grouping the consignments but charging against them too.

Automating Con-Notes to the Same Address

Within CartonCloud, you can configure the system to automatically group consignments together based on certain rules. Typically, you would automatically group consignments together which are on the same manifest and going to the same location. When you do that you can then control whether or not you would like to automatically invoice for the group itself or for the individual consignments within the group. This makes it really easy and painless to manage how you handle your invoicing and also how your drivers manage the deliveries.

Benefits of Using CartonCloud

When your drivers are in the field, if they're delivering multiple consignments to the one store, they see them combined together into a single address. They can then go in there and see the individual jobs, but it makes it much easier for them to look at a list where they're looking at, "I've got 10 jobs to go here and five to go to here and three to go to here," rather than having to look at 10 lines of the same address, followed by one line of another address, et cetera. So the group charging makes it much, much easier to charge for multiple deliveries going to the same place.
