CargoWise is a solid solution in the transport and logistics space, however there are some fantastic alternatives around which can be more affordable. After all, CargoWise operated by WiseTech Global is optimal for big businesses which need a complete end-to-end supply chain solution.

Not everyone needs quite a complex and robust system especially when getting started. In this article, we'll be covering some solid alternatives to consider in this space.

Alternatives to CargoWise

1. CartonCloud

As an Australian company, CartonCloud is eager to help clients domestically and soon internationally. Our younger and energetic workforce combined with our genuine industry experience is currently helping hundreds of clients in Australia, New Zealand and South-East Asia to automate allocations and decisions across their transport fleets. We're best suited for small to medium-scale operations at a local or national scale.

2. Magaya

For the international business that requires optimisation of their supply chain across multiple borders, Mayaga is a fantastic alternative to CargoWise. Their single system combines operations, accounting, connectivity and complaince for large enterprises. For the security conscious stakeholders, data can be stored on premises or in the cloud while still being supported by real humans 24/7.

3. SAP TMS

SAP has a broad range of core offerings and currently serve thousands of clients with their Transport Management and Logistics System. Fleets can be intergrated and orders consolidated quite easily while management teams can better plan for increased freight demand across national and international business units. For a full-scale corporate solution, it's hard to skip past what SAP offers.

Things to Consider

When you are looking for a solution to your transport needs, there are some things you need to consider first:

  • Your projected growth in your business over the next 3, 5 and 7 years and whether you can transition easily from one platform to the next in that timeframe.
  • How well the transport management system integrates into your warehousing system, and if you can inventory the items within your warehouse.
  • The ability to create custom quotations. You may have standardized rates and specialized rates during times of higher or lower throughput.
  • Integrations through Zapier. You may use a suite of existing tools such as Xero which should be easy to integrate through their API or tools like Zapier.
  • Has a friendly user experience which creates buy-in. If it appears too technical then it's difficult and slow for existing staff to adopt the new system.
  • Most importantly - can be taught to those who aren't so tech savvy. End users operating forklifts and trucks shouldn't require 3 weeks of training before being deployed.

CartonCloud can do all the following and much more as a company that serves the small to medium enterprise market. Reach out to us today as we'd love to show you a free demo of both our transport and warehousing management solution.
