Backdate Arrival

What are Custom Fields?

It's common in small business to have to make changes to things retrospectively. Let's say for example, a truck load of stock arrives at 5:00 PM on a Friday, just as everybody's walking out the door. If you want to charge that storage correctly, in most systems you'd need to immediately allocate it to a location so that on Monday when you're invoicing runs, it captures all of that stock that has just come in.

CartonCloud's transport management system and warehouse management system give you flexibility around this as we understand that this isn't always possible, that you can't just hold all of your staff back on a Friday afternoon, nor would you want to. So as a result, what you can do is backdate the dates that certain events occurred.

So let's say on Monday you put all of that stock away into the various locations. You can then go into the purchase order and back date the arrival date, so that all of your storage charges and everything else calculate exactly like they would had you put the stock away on the Friday afternoon.

This makes it very easy to keep track of what has occurred, but it's also flexible enough to prevent you from having to do unnecessary work on a Friday afternoon when all you want to do is go home for the weekend.
