The Three Key Reasons Parkland Logistics Chose CartonCloud
Aaron Li-Operations Manager, Parkland Logistics.
There’s no shortage of software that claims to manage your end-to-end business operations. But only one application has been designed by logistics experts, specifically for the Australian and New Zealand logistics industry. So it was a no-brainer that CartonCloud was top of the list when Victorian 3PL business Parkland Logistics was sourcing a system that could reduce manual data entry and administration costs.
Parkland is a 3PL and transport company dealing in cold storage for local food manufacturers in and around Victoria. The company’s Heidelberg West warehouse caters for all three storage zones – ambient, chilled and frozen – and, despite being only three years old, they’ve already established a robust reputation for reliable and efficient service to high profile customers such as NAFDA Food Service, Crackerjack Foods and Melbourne Racing Club.
Parkland Operations Manager Aaron Li said that while their previous ERP system was great for a company simply buying and selling product, it wasn’t a complete storage and logistics solution.
“We tailored the software to a 3PL when we first created Parkland but over time we realised it just wasn’t automated enough, resulting in a lot of manual data entry,” he said.
“We constantly had customers calling us requiring delivery information – finding this information was very manual and ultimately time-consuming.”
After a couple of years and substantial growth, the company knew it would need a system that was built for the warehousing and transport industry, with high levels of automation and reliability.
“As a customer dealing with various other storage facilities and transport companies much larger than ourselves, we already had exposure to CartonCloud. We recognised it could assist us in automating a lot of the processes. We work closely with Bluestar Logistics who were already on it and very happy, so after checking out how they were using it, we signed up.”
Since implementing CartonCloud in April 2020, Aaron has already identified a number of areas where it has improved both their operations and customer service.
“It’s a highly intuitive platform so staff onboarding was relatively straightforward and we’ve been able to provide customers with a clearer picture of what to expect. Increased visibility and enhanced user experience has helped drive customer satisfaction and in turn, secure long-term partnerships.”
CartonCloud also allows integration with customers’ legacy systems. Parkland has already been able to integrate one customer and is progressing with two more. “The customer integration process for Parkland and the approach from the CartonCloud team has been excellent,” said Aaron.
Aaron believes CartonCloud will assist in providing a much-needed end-to-end solution for all customers, while simultaneously attracting larger clients to the business.
“The ability to integrate CartonCloud with other software is a real advantage when talking to potential new clients,” he said. “The process is easy, transparent, and applicable to a wide range of other platforms.”
Making the switch to CartonCloud has ensured Parkland could address rapidly emerging business needs with a software application built specifically for the logistics industry.
CartonCloud, it’s logistics software made by logistics people. CartonCloud is an integrated warehouse management system and transport management system. It was developed specifically to focus on automating administration processes and accounting tasks to speed up cash-flow and create total transparency for customers while making it really easy-to-use.
