June has been another big month of exciting updates at CartonCloud! We’ve rolled out powerful new features to help streamline your workflows, give you greater control, and make everyday logistics just that little bit easier.

Here’s everything you need to know about what’s new this month in CartonCloud.

📦 Advanced Backordering — Smarter Order Splitting & Allocation

Our Backorder Management feature gives you the tools to control how orders are handled when stock is unavailable. Now, we’re levelling up with Advanced Backordering, giving you even more automation and flexibility.

What's New?

Advanced Backordering helps you reduce unnecessary order fragmentation and manage stock allocation more intelligently.

Intelligent Order Splitting
Only split orders when stock isn't expected soon. With this new setting, orders are kept whole if the missing items are due to arrive within a timeframe you set (e.g., 3 days), reducing additional shipping costs and customer confusion.

Smarter Stock Allocation
Take control of when stock is allocated to Sale Orders. Choose whether to:

  • Allocate only when the entire order can be fulfilled, or
  • Allocate if the remaining items are due within a set number of days.

This enables stock to be allocated to orders that can be shipped now, rather than being held for too long by orders awaiting stock.

🧪 Try It Out — Free Until September
Advanced Backordering is available for all accounts to trial until September 2025, after which it will be exclusive to WMS Premium accounts.

📱Mobile App Improvements

Our latest mobile app updates — versions 6.23.0 and 6.24.0 for iOS and Android — bring powerful enhancements to both Pick to Tote workflows and general Picking visibility. These improvements originate directly from the floor, inspired by customer feedback and hands-on experience in real-world warehouse environments.

📦 Pick to Tote Workflow Improvements

Smarter Tote Scanning

Tote scanning is now more intelligent and efficient:

  • Scanning a tote barcode automatically filters the Items and Orders lists.
  • The linked order is surfaced instantly, helping you skip the scroll and get straight to work.

Faster, Continuous Scanning

No more waiting for each item to process before scanning the next:

  • When picking the same product for multiple orders, you can now continue between orders without any delay, waiting for the prior pick to save. 
  • If an already in-use tote is scanned, you can now switch to a different tote without needing to rescan the product.

It’s a more fluid, responsive scanning experience that can shave seconds off order pick times. For more details, visit our Knowledge Base page on Pick to Tote in CartonCloud Help

📋 General Picking Improvements

🔍 Clearer Visibility in Awaiting Stock Orders

We’ve enhanced the mobile app to allow opening and viewing Sale Orders in Awaiting Stock status:

  • Unassigned or not-yet-received items are highlighted in red.
  • Quantities are shown as a single total (e.g. “52 Unit”) so you can instantly assess availability.

This improvement enables pickers to identify why an order is unable to be picked without needing to return to a computer.

We’re not stopping there! Here’s a sneak peek at what’s coming soon to CartonCloud:

Pack Screen for E-Commerce

Introducing a new Pack Screen to speed up high-volume e-commerce packing — with carrier integration, split picking/packing workflows, and connected scale support. This project is now in Beta with select customers.

Item-Level Scanning (TMS)

Enhance transport operations with item-level scanning, enabling drivers and warehouse staff to scan and track each item throughout the loading, unloading, and delivery process.

We anticipate launching our Beta with select customers this month. 

SSCC/ASN Consignment Items

Coming soon, you’ll be able to better manage and track SSCC/ASN items at a consignment item level, giving you even more detailed control and visibility for your shipments.

More Click+Connect Integrations

We’re significantly expanding our Click & Connect integration library, making it easier than ever to connect your sales channels and carriers in just a few clicks.

Here’s what’s coming soon:

  • Amazon (FBM)
  • eBay
  • Walmart 

Looking ahead, we’ll also be adding new direct carrier integrations, including:

  • Auspost, USPS, UPS, Canada Post
  • Starshipit (order source and carrier integration)

Directed Put-away

Transform your put-away process with automated storage location suggestions, helping your team find the optimal location for each item in real-time.
